Generic Questions

Is there a hall of fame that players can get elected to after they retire if their good enough?

Yes. You can set some rough statistical parameters for automatic induction (HRs, BA with X amount of hits, X amount of hits, VORP, wins, saves, a few others) and/or induct players into the HoF yourself.

So there is no simulated group of sports writers who decide who gets voted in or not? Also if i start in 2008 are all the HOF players who are in the HOF in real life already in the HOF in the game?

I know these are minor things but the little details are what makes these types of games special.

HOF admission is done automatically in OOTP, based on criteria like 3,000 hits, 500 HR's, 300 wins, etc. These threshholds can be adjusted in League Setup, Options, or you can induct people manually.

Regarding your 2008 HOF players, you have to be referring to the 2008 MLB quickstart game that comes with OOTP 9. If so, then I can confirm that 140 real HOF players are listed in there, up to and including the 2007 inductees, Gwynn and Ripkin.
