Question Regarding HS and College Feeder Leagues
I am running a fictional/historical league starting in 1871. I am currently just using A/AA/AAA and later around 1920's add a college feeder and/or HS feeder league.
Is this possible is my first question? Can I add them over 50 years into a leagues history or will it cause problems. Also related to that since I am having the historical players brought in for the draft every year, I assume that my fictional players that I am allowing mingle in my league would come from these feeder leagues? Are the players from the feeder leagues drafted or are they free agents? |

I'm no expert in this area, historical play, but from what I know, I don't see why you cannot add feeder leagues 50 years into a league. All you are doing is creating fictional players to supplement the historical ones that are coming into the draft each season.
Crucial thing: Make sure you use the Add Minor League button while focused on your major league. Don't just try to create a feeder league and affiliate it with the major league manually. Look through this thread: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...raft-pool.html It's from over a year ago, but it's still valid. See where I spoke about how to tell if your feeder league is working - you get another option in Amateur Draft Rules called Draft Feeding Mode. You want to set that for Feeder League + Additional Players. If you don't see this option, you don't have a working Feeder League. I would keep the Feeder League small at first, by the way. You don't want to have to many new players each season going undrafted and choking up your free agent pool (feeder league graduates go into the draft, and if undrafted, become free agents). You can always add more Feeder League teams later if you want or need to do so. Last edited by 1998 Yankees; 07-01-2008 at 10:28 PM. |
