Question What is Tracemode?

On my desktop, if I select start, I see the following:

Start>Out Of The Park Developments>Tools>Start OOTP9 with tracemode

What is tracemode?

Thanks

Trace mode is typically only needed when troubleshooting issues.

Typically found in your C:\Users\owner\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\config folder for Vista users. To find the folder for your operating system open OOTP and look in Game Preferences off of the Main screen. You'll see a button at the bottom that reads Open config file.

Open the "app" file with Notepad or some other simple text editor.

Look for the line that says trace_mode, and change the value from a 0 to a 1.

Save and close the file.

Start up OOTP and proceed to whatever point Tech Support wants you to.

Quit OOTP

Look in C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9 or wherever the program is installed for a file called ootp.log, and provide that information!

Sorry to highjack temporarily. Bottom Of The Sixth, the umpire holding his hand out in your avatar is the answer to a trivia question. Do you know the question?

Heh. Very good Rich. I will not spoil the suprise; however, I am sure that BOTS will have the answer.

EDIT: Actually, I will take back my smug answer, which would be obvious to all. With a bit of Googling, I think I know what the answer is, but (?)

EDIT 2: All right, I'm back and I'm stoked. Gimme what you guys got first, then I'll share with you what I got.

OK, then, I was just waiting for you to log back on again in order to have a chance to answer Rich's trivia question. Since you don't seem to know, then I'll take a shot if you don't mind.

First I thought you were just talking about the name of Norman Rockwell's painting for the cover of the Saturday Evening Post being the same as BOTS' ID, then I realized (within seconds of posting, I assure you) that was an incredibly dumb observation, like BOTS just happened to choose an avatar that matched his ID without knowing it. Jeez, 1998!

Then I thought you were talking about this story: "ESPN sued for airing Norman Rockwell work without permit in Yankees movie":
ESPN sued for airing Norman Rockwell work without permit in Yankees movie

However, a bit more research, with the help of this bulletin board:
Norman Rockwell GAME CALLED BECAUSE RAIN - NYYFans.com Forum

led me to this thread:
Beans Reardon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Basically, the game in the painting is between the Pirates and Dodgers in Ebbetts Field and the umpire shown with his hand out is Beans Reardon, a National League umpire wearing an outside chest protector which only American League umpires wore at the time. Some people then, and now, believed that Rockwell made a mistake but actually Reardon was known as a maverick who did not get along with the head NL umpire, Bill Klem. He really did wear the outside chest protector and Rockwell got it right.

So, since you adopted a Jeopardy-style format, the question, Alex-Rich, is "Who is that umpire and why is he out of uniform, so to speak?"

Good stuff, even if I am wrong.

LOL, that's pretty good, better than my question in fact.

I screwed up. The umpire I was thinking of was Lou Jorda, the one on the right. Somehow I got it mixed up.

Anyway the question for which the answer is Lou Jorda, is, Who was behind the plate when Bobby Thompson hit the Home Run to win the pennant in 1951?

So two stories on one painting, not bad.
