Very annoying!

Almost everytime now when i click on one of those icons on the bottom of the page (league standings, transactions, options etc) i get directed to the main page of the OOTP website... At first it happened just a few times, but now its almost everytime, and it just starts to piss me off!!!

Anything i can do about that?

You're hitting the little advertising links at the bottom of the reports pages.

The only permanent thing you could do is modify the template .tpl file for the html files, to take out the link. The proper .tpl file is one of the footers.

If you don't want to dig that deep, you just need to be more careful where you're clicking.

Well im not that stupid!

Offcourse i quadruple checked if i was not clicking on the wrong buttons myself. But no, im really just clicking in the middle of the icons... And with icons i mean the 17 icons on the bottom of the page.

No, he isn't hitting the ad links. I've been getting that same issue for weeks now.

Edit - It started with one of the patches, IIRC, but I don't know which one...

This seems to happen on particular pages, the schedule page being one of them. I've found myself going to MANAGER then HOME PAGE, when I'm on a page I'm unsure of, then hitting the bottom buttons. It's a PITA but at least it's not a crash and the game is sooo good I'll put up with this annoyance.

I have had the same problem on an intermitant basis. Primarily when trying to go the the Manager Home page. I thought it was just me, but apparently not.

Well at least it's not just me (sorry)...

I play with patch 9.1.2.

Anything we can do about this?

I use 9.1.6.

No idea if something can be done aside from filing this as a bug report.

I've noticed this too, but I am at a loss over how I would report it to Tech Support. I mean, if they have not noticed it in beta or development yet, how could I demonstrate it to them?

One thing I noticed, BTW, is that when it happens while clicking the Manager Home Page button, clicking the League Home Page button clears it up.

I've gotten it on a variety of buttons. It doesn't always happen, but when it does it never happens the second time I click on the same button immediately after.

I am having the same problem as the rest of you. It isn't all the time but it is annoying. I hope this little annoying problem will get fixed. Not that it makes any difference in the outcome of the games, but yeah, this gets annoying after a while. Oh well!!

With me it does. I just set a new record with 11 times on the same button. Just wanted to check how long it would go on...

This really starts to get on my nerves now... Hate to say it but this is disappointing

Would you be willing to post this in Tech Support with a link back to this thread? I would do it, but my welcome over there was worn out long ago.

Hmm, don't know what you did but that is why I don't post over there with a problem because I would probably say things that they wouldn't like. I have a tendency sometimes to write very long messages and am not afraid to speak my mind on certain issues. My guess is that you are the same. Oh well. They shouldn't be that sensitive to fixing problems that exist in the sim. Just my opinion but we are the ones purchasing the sim after all. If their skin is that sensitive then they shouldn't be in the business of creating the game in the first place. They should realize that this kind of thing will happen from time to time. It's not that we dislike the game or the person or people who have written it's code. We just want the game to be the best it can be. I see nothing wrong with that. The better the sim, the more sales. YES? I think so.
This game is the best baseball sim out there in spite of some problems with it. I can live with that but I don't think they should take anything so seriously when a question is raised about fixing any problem with it.
Just my two cents. I don't know what you did to make them angry but they shouldn't shut out anyone who has a legitimate complaint about the sim or some part of it.

My problem is not with Tech Support itself. That's a very limited crew over there (the developers and one volunteer as far as I can tell), and they do a creditable job with what they have.

No, I think the issue they have with me is related to three things: 1) I'm around much too often, 2) I talk too much, and 3) I have criticized them as lackadaisical at times with their own business. Plus, there was an unfortunate incident regarding what they saw as a trolling alias which I had meant as a new beginning in these forums . . .

Just subtle signs lead to my conclusion, it could be just my imagination, of course. Whatever. I have gone way beyond any desire to be a club member; I am here now to help improve the game and to assist my fellow community members, particularly the noobs who are the key to the future of OOTP.

I've had the same problem happen to me on some occasions too. What I do is hit a different button and then hit the button I want. Usually, it will stop.

What seems to help with me, is having my mouse covering the button, not just half, but the entire mouse... still not ideal though.
