Can I set up a league this way?

Hello,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Sorry for the length of this question, but I would like more information on two points.<o></o>
<o></o>
I've read through the whole on-line manual and feel a little overwhelmed. I want to play each real life MLB season beginning in 1950, but I want each year to have the actual rosters. So, when Mickey Mantle shows up in 1951, he is on the Yankees, and he remains with them until he retires after 1968. I don't want to deal with off-season free agent signings or trades, but after 1951 is over, and 1952 begins, the rosters are as they were in real-life, and so on through time.<o></o>
What I do want is to manage games and control call-ups and the disabled list for one team, while letting the AI handle the rest of the league.<o></o>
If possible, I would want real-life trades to be handled automatically, but that doesn't seem possible, so I would probably manually do these for the league in Comissioner mode.<o></o>
I guess to summarize, I want the transactions in which players moved from one organization to another to occur as they did in real-life. For call-ups, demotions, and disabled list moves, however, I want the AI to control them as necessary in the "game world," for all teams except the one I control. I also only want players to appear in the Majors who actually did in real-life.<o></o>
I suppose I could just do individual historical seasons, but wouldn't this mean I couldn't track the history of my league?<o></o>
Finally, on the topic of injuries, are players injured in the game based on the number of games they played in a season, or based on any injuries that happened to them in real-life? In other words, would a player like Cal Ripken, Jr. ever be randomly injured in the sim for an extended period? Or how would a player like Derek Jeter be treated. He's basically been injury free every single year he's been in the Majors, except for 2003 when he missed a month at the beginning of the season. In the sim, would he be essentially injury free except in 2003?<o></o>
<o></o>
Thanks for any feedback. The game truly looks awesome, and I realize what I want to do only utilizes a small fraction of the game's possibilities.
