Suspension Question
I am underway with my Phils dynasty but I had a question about the suspension to Romero. He is still on my active roster, and I can't seem to add anyone to it. I think I read that 9.2.2 was supposed to fix a suspension problem in the game where the players kept playing despite suspensions. I am about to play my first game (I simmed the first couple and he didn't get into either) and was wondering if he's actually going to be usable despite the fact that he's suspended? I would just find it very strange if he's not usable but I can't add anyone else to my active roster. Thanks for anyone who can help me with this.

I think he answer to your question is that suspension does not work like putting someone on the disabled list. You can move him off your roster in the same ways that you can move any other player off the roster (taking whatever risks are involved with a waiver, for example). Or he stays on your roster, but can't play until the suspension is over.
Is that what you were looking for? |

Yeah that answers my question, it's just that it doesn't seem realistic. Like what's going to happen in real life this year? Romero's not gonna force the Phillies to go with 24 men until June, when he returns. I guess it's just not a feature in the game to have him on some suspended list.

Anyone have a decent source for what MLB's roster implications are for suspensions? I looked, but couldn't find one. My guess is that it is like the DL in that you're allowed to add someone else to the active roster without risking your rights to the suspended player, but I don't know for sure.

Found this when looking at players with past suspensions for drugs...
Milw 3/30/08 Placed OF Mike Cameron on the restricted list, serving a 25-game drug suspension. Granted he was the 4th player I looked up the other 3 had no mention in the transactions pages. Also found this... A Player shall be placed on the Restricted List during the term of any suspension imposed under this Section 8. A Player suspended under this Section 8 shall receive Major League Service while suspended. Notwithstanding Major League Rule 16(a), a Player suspended under this Section 8 shall be reinstated from the Restricted List immediately at the conclusion of the specified period of ineligibility. From here.... http://www.mlb.com/pa/pdf/jda.pdf Last edited by CecilCooper; 03-03-2009 at 03:02 PM. Reason: new findings |
