Game Engine

Being new to OOTP, I am a bit curious about the game engine. How does the program resolve the results? How many different variables play a part in a given result? Being a SAT football player I have become accustomed to the option of viewing the results through an open game engine on any given play. I think this is a great game, but would appreciate any insight to its inner workings. Thanks!

I've played SAT (both dice and computer versions) as well as many other dice and computer sims. There is no comparison to how the results are generated and you would not want to see the hundreds (and here I am not exaggerating) of variable checks that go into producing a result in a computer game. While not as complex as an FOF algorithm, I'm certain OOTP checks at least dozens of variables before it produces a result for each batter.

How those variables interact is only known for certain by Markus, and he's not telling

"Yes, I have," DiMaggio responded.

The process of the determination of the results of an at-bat has been documented on these boards. You'd have to search for the info, but it's around.
