Player Strategy Hit & Run

I'm not a newb, but I guess this question best belongs here.

When setting a player's individual strategy area is Hit & Run set for the player as a hitter or as a runner?

I always assumed it was as a hitter but I recently took over a team where the previous GM seemed to set them as if it was meant to b set for the player while on base.

That last sentence makes me think hitter, but it isn't totally clear.

My guess would be hitter after reading that.

Definitely hitter. The reference to good contact cinches it.
