Converting MR to SP

Can this be done and what are the best steps to do this?

Also will they have the same ratings as SP (i.e. movement etc)

Cheers

Yes just go to profile and click change position but only do it if his endurance rating is pretty high

thanks but if they only had a low endurance could you build this up by playing them as a starter?

Endurance CAN change, but only in minor amounts (at least from my experience). It's not like you're going to build a 2/10 Endurance guy to a 6/10 Endurance or anything. He may move to a 3, but I believe the "building up" is a myth in OOTP.

I would recommend trying to start the pitcher. If he is only going 3 innings then you know he may never be a starter, but if you can get 5-6 this can be a sign that he can be built up to a 6 inning pitcher in time.

I use a 2-8 scale and I have had some 3's that can throw 80-100 pitches. I have had some 3s that no matter what can only throw 50. The best active pitcher in my solo fictional league right now is someone he never started a game until they got to the Majors. He now has a 5, pretty sure he was a 4 when he first started.

By the way, the AI will start a 3 or 4/10 Endurance guy on "high" or above if they have good ratings. Usually get 80-90 pitches out of them.

I don't know if I'd consider it "building up", but I have had pitchers with a 1 or 2 endurance (out of 10) jump up to a 4-6 over the course of a single season of being thrown in as a starter. Once, it happened without changing his position from MR. I didn't have enough healthy SPs, one too many MRs and didn't want to juggle people around, so I threw him into the rotation with the intention of keeping him there temporarily. He wound up being my regular number five guy that season and I changed his position after that, but he suffered a career-ending injury the following season It doesn't happen much, but I have seen it.
