Major League Preseason

Hi all.

I am trying to start a new game.

I want to run the Rockies for 2008, but I want to make trades before the start of the season. I would like to start on 01/01/08. But, the game starts on 03/24/08, the day before the season starts.

Do I have to start on 03/24/08?

It will be very difficult to make all my trades on one day if I can only shop three players. If I have to start on 03/24/08, can I change the limit on shopping players?

Thanks!

I assume you are playing the Quickstart game. Because it is a quickstart, everything is predetermined (basically the game has already been run to 3/24, and there ain't no going back). The intention is precisely to have the game start off with the same rosters that were in place when the season started.

Actually, I haven't tried a Quickstart, yet. I am trying to use a "New 2008 Major League Game".

I tried "New Custom Game", but could not figure out how to use real players from this starting point. I tried an historical game, but the most recent was starting date allowed was 01/01/2007.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Yeah, but it's confusing. When you click the button for "New 2008 Major League Game" you are basically clicking on a shortcut that launches the MLB Quickstart (which you could also launch by going to the Quickstart menu). So you are playing a Quickstart game. And yes, that is basically the only way you can play a solo 2008 season with real players. The other method is to start an historical in 2007 and work your way to 2008.

Thanks for the clarification.

I am pushing on. Scrambling to put the roster together before I have to submit my first lineup card.

Having fun!

Thanks again!
