Player photos if I've started league

I started my league, an MLB 2009 quickstart, in the minors. The computer has generated faces for minor and major leaguers, which is fun but some of the guys I am familiar with obvioulsy look different.

I am seeing from some of the boards that one may have to start a new game to use the player photo mods that various people create. Is that true? I am reluctant to start fresh even though I've only played two games. I would like to get player photos for at least the major league guys and have them override the existing facegen. Is that doable?

You should be able to just paste the new photos into your images folder without a problem.
