Real Teams - Fictional Players

I want to start a real MLB experience with minors and the works, but I want to have Fictional Players throughout the Leagues. I am also hoping to keep the team budgets (financials) intact. Is there a specific "protocol" to use to get this to work? Thanks.

Create the league, make sure you are in Commissioner mode. Go to the Game dropdown menu, then Game Setup, then League Setup. Scroll down to Release All Players/Clear Rosters and select it. Go to the Free Agent Screen and click Delete All Free Agents. Go back to League Setup and click Fill Teams With Fictional Players.

That'll give you your fictional league. I can't promise budgets will stay intact with their MLB counterparts because I've never tried it.

And I was resisting the urge to go all Al Swearengen on this post, you hooplehead.

I am not sure if Al's vulgar vocabulary would last very long until restrictions would be enacted.
From your directions, Do I start the Create League from the Major League Quick Start?
The other 2 questions, Will this fill my minors? and Do I have to choose the button that states "Change Salaries to better represent players Ability"?
Thanks again, and remember you are always welcome to the Gem Saloon. Dan can set you up!

Yes I think Kelric was starting with the MLB Quickstart for his tutorial. I also do fictional players in an MLB setup with full minors, logos, uniforms, etc. What I do is start with the MAL standard league which creates an MLB with full minors structure. I then go to PadreFans website and download logos, uniforms, etc and put them in my newly created game.

Where can I find Kelrics Tutorial?
I also like having all the uniforms and logos. Do I have to clear all the minors? and add Fictional Players?

He meant the quick directions I was giving you.

The release/clear players option will cut the majors and minors. And yeah, if you want players you will need to click the Fill With Fictional button.

I can't recall if it will fill your minor leagues, but if it doesn't you can always go team by team and fill them from the Transaction screen with a button on there. I can't really give you a good answer on the financial part of this, sadly.

Thanks for all the help. I will mess with all the information this weekend, work keeps getting in the way. I will have to see what happens with the contracts and financials when the league is set up. If anyone else knows more about the financials and contracts with 10, please let me know.
Thanks.

Yeah, I guess I am going to have to check this out tonight, too. My boss just came by and told me to leave for the day!

Guess that's better than when mine told me to just leave.
