HoF questions

Not a newb, but I have some basic questions.

1) Can I turn off automatic HoF induction? So that I can not have a HoF till the 20s (say).

2) Can I "merge" Halls of Fame? I intend to go from 2 major leagues, and 2 independant leagues pre-war, to 1 major league post-war, and I want anyone who makes the HoF pre-war to go into 1 Hall Of Fame afterwards.

Alternatively, can I have one Hall of Fame for the whole universe?

Cheers.

1) just set the HOF criteria on the gamesetup league options screen to unatainable and nobody will be inducted

2) you can delete and add players to the HOF at your whim. It is one of the choices when you right click a retired player.

1) Ah yeah, if I set it at 2000 HRs, .900 BA, or 1000 wins, no one's going to get in.

2) But will someone be able to enter a league HoF if he never played in it?

You can also set the hall of fame totals to 0 and no-one gets inducted.

2) No, they must have played at least one game there.

What are reasonable numbers for an automatic induction?

When I set all numbers to "0" (nobody will ever go to HoF) can I manually induct them?

It depends what your league numbers are like, and how many HOFer's you want. Using modern numbers, I'd say about 580 HRs for a hitter or 250 wins for a pitcher.

Yes.

Yes.
I play MLB Setup with 162 Games, 30 Teams down to Single A Affil.

Where can I manually induct them?

Once they retire you can right-click on 'em and it will give you an option to induct them.

I advise a look at Baseball Reference.

Career Leaders &amp Records for Home Runs - Baseball-Reference.com

500 HR is actually a good reference point. There are 25 players who have hit that many. 5 are still active. 3 of those guys are locks, and 2 of them are probable. 4 recently retired one are tainted by drug scandal, but will probably get inducted anyway. One of them is not eligible yet. The other 15 are in the Hall.

I think 500 is a good marker for HR.

You can do the same exercise in the other categories.
