Disable Right to Refuse Minor League Assignement

I have the box "Disable Right to Refuse Minor League Assignement" in my Setup. As I am new to the game and the rules I don't know exactly how to interprete this option/box.

What does it mean when this box is ticked? or not ticked?

I have problems in understanding that "double negative aspect" because of the words "disable & refuse" in the same sentence.

The bottom line is: to easy some things up I don't want to give the players a right not to go to the minors. If I want to demote them, they should go down without complaints (so to say).

Sorry for that question.
My English is limited as well.

Many thanks from Germany.

If this box is unchecked, then:
Players with five or more years of service time will have the ability to refuse a demotion to the minors (becoming free agents).

If this box is checked, then:
Players will not have this ability regardless of service time, and must go to the minors if asked.

I think, then, that you want to check the box. (But note that, if the box is unchecked, only players who have accrued five or more years of service time are affected.)

Becoming FA instead of being waived?

Well, they will refused, and your options become

a) Freeing up a roster spot by demoting someone else who can't refuse the assignment, or

b) Waiving the refusing player, thus making him a free agent (after he clears waivers)

Option B is usually the choice must people go with because the player was crap enough to "earn" a demotion, and you probably don't want a person who's going to defy your authority on the team, anyway.

But no, if he refuses assignment he doesn't automatically become a free agent. You have to cut him first.
