Moving a Team

Okay, so I'm playing as the Washington Nationals, and despite the fact that I've re-signed the "extremely popular players", been to the playoffs the last three years, and won the last World Series, my attendance this year at cheaper ticket prices then last year is down 10% with my teams 50-12 record. I'm fed up with the Nationals fans at this point, as apparently their interest is still only 75. Is there any way to move my team? Or propose relocation? I was just wondering, since if their attitude doesn't improve after this year, I'd be likely to abandon them for a return to Montreal!

I have turned my bakc on MLB sinc ethe Expos left town here.. please move them back!! Even if its only in OOTP form!

Yeah, you can move them. Just go into the League Setup and change the the city, nickname, and country. Then you can manually modify the logos, colors, city, ballparks, etc... from the team page. I think you can only do this during the offseason.

Thanks for the fast reply. I was heavily thinking about doing this in the offseason, but the fans have turned it around and through the following season were willing to pay $10 more a ticket then they had the year before. I am fed up with the fickle city though, and starting next offseason I think I will be putting in two expansion franchises, one of which will be in Montreal, which I'll helm for a brand new challenge. Any ideas of where the other one should be.

I've always thought that these cities could be interesting for expansion:

Las Vegas
Raleigh, NC
Tulsa, OK
Indianapolis
Buffalo

It's kind of interesting that I was considering posting a similar topic to this; one asking about expansion. Like you, the Montreal Expos were going to be one of my newest teams. Just a question though, how would you modify your league setup to accommodate the new teams? I wanted to put the Expos into the NL, which means moving one team. I thought about moving the Brewers back to the AL, but the Colorado Rockies actually seemed like a more logical choice for me due to their location. They could be the 4th team in an AL West or AL South division, providing I change each league to 4 divisions with 4 teams each based on geographical location.

Anyways, I had considered the following cities for expansion into the AL:
Mexico City, Mexico (extremely large population, would then be one team from each NAFTA nation, but too far away?)
San Juan, Puerto Rico (Expos played a few home games there, but too far away?)
Vancouver, BC (another Canadian team, but too close to Seattle?)
Edmonton, AB (another Canadian team, they have that huge baseball bat on statute, but too far north? Baseball in Edmonton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia check out that link to support a move to Edmonton)
Salt Lake City, UT (already supporting the Jazz, nice and close to the Rockies and Diamondbacks)
Charlotte, NC (fast-growing city, but too many Eastern teams already?)
Portland, OR (I've never been a fan of it, but it's another Western team and lots of people seem to think the city could support a franchise)

Just cities I've thought of expanding to. Out of curiosity, what year are you doing the expansion in?

I really considered Las Vegas or Mexico City, as I think those are probably the most logical as far as untapped markets go, but in the end in addition to the Montreal Franchise, Vancouver won the other franchise. Clearly, being Canadian, I have a bias, but I think there is plenty of opportunity for growth in Canada, and putting a team in the West would help to really cultivate the growth of the sport north of the border.

As for the league set-up, I put the Expos in the NL East, with the Vancouver Orcas in the AL West. This gives each AL division 5 teams, and the NL has two divisions of 6 teams, with one of 5. This keeps the Leagues two teams apart, which makes little sense to me, but considering MLB already is structed like this, I left the two team difference (if anyone can explain to me how the NL teams don't complain about having two extra teams fighting for the same amount of playoff spots, I'd love to hear it). As for when I did expansion, it came about for the 2017 season. The league as a whole had made record profits in each of the past three seasons, and it was time to spread the love.

Pardon my ignorance, but, how will that work out having 17 teams in one league and 15 in the other? Do you have a custom schedule made?
