SP/MR Stamina
In my online league we are about to start our draft. We stated in 2009 so the players in the draft are not real.
I want a Sp but idk if the top one will last to me at pick 7. There are a few MR that have aweseom Stuff, Control, and Movement potential but only 4 or 5 stamina... With 4 stamina how many innings could i expect as a starter? What about 5? So say 4 or 5 stamina is good, would it be a good move to draft one of these MR? One has 9 stuff, 7 movement, 7 contorl. And his pitches are 7 and 8. |

The main problem with trying to make a MR into a starter is his pitch selection. He may have the stamina for starting, but if he only has 2 pitches he is probably not going to do well. Two pitch guys should probably remain in the bullpen where they come out and face a few guys and are back out of the game before the other team can "figure them out." As for your stamina question, you should be able to get 6 good innings (maybe 90-100 PI) from a 4 stamina guy. |

Guys with two pitches and 4-5 stamina will not be good starters if this is 1-20 scale. If it is 1-10 scale...uhh, they still probably won't be good starters, but at least they will be able to throw 6 innings.
The role suggestion on the player page is there for a reason. I would listen to it for the most part. I certainly wouldn't take a chance like that on your first pick when you could easily get a stud 3-hole hitter.

And as for the 2nd part, I made that mistake in my previous draft. Guy listed as a SP, I saw the 76/80 Potential, but didn't look at the guy's page. Yeah, he only had two pitches and was listed as "strictly bullpen" for my majors ![]() No wonder why he dropped to the 3rd round... |
