My Scout director tells me a guy is like four stars. So I trade for him, then when he shows up on my team it turns to like 1 star and the director rips on him. Am I doing something wrong? It was his scouting that caused me to get the guy? Now I'm stuck with like 5 guys who were 4 star and now are 1 star. I can't even deal them lol

I've seen the same thing. I'm not sure what to make of scouting. Still trying to figure out the difference in ability, neutral and tools. I know the manual says superstars vs. serviceable players but I'm having a hard time getting my head around it.

It's extremely weird. Makes me want to fire the scout.

Scouts get more accurate the more times they scout a player. So there could just be some "refinement" going on in has assessment. If the jumps in ratings are huge, check your scouting budget. You may not be adequately financing Major League level scouting (or whatever level this guy was at.) Other teams are scouted just before you play a series against them. Your own team is scouted several times in the off-season, and then 4-5 times throughout the season.

Scouting reports on older players will be more accurate than reports on young guys as well.
