Feeder Leagues

What are feeder leagues exactly? Are they just there so you can see the stats of the college prospect before you draft them or an international player before you sign them? I'm just curious because I want to play in the most realistic settings so having the stats there to see would be better IMO.

And how would you set up a feeder league?

I'm waiting for an answer before I start my single-player league. Thanks.

Feeder leagues are as you describe....a way to produce stats for players ready for when they enter your normal league.
