Too many balks, pickoffs, and errors...

I'm about 50 games into my game (playing the 2009 Indians), and I'm getting some results that are frankly alarming. For one, my pitching staff has committed 10 balks through those 50 games, I've had 9 runners get picked off of first, and as of game #50, I've only played six games in which there wasn't an error committed. I don't think you'd get ten balks in a season from the entire American League, let alone from 1 team through 50 games. Has anyone else had similar issues? Is there any fix for this? Should I re-install the game? I certainly haven't played deeply enough into it yet that losing any of the saved games I've got is going to upset me much.

I suggest you look at some statistics from RL MLB, for 2008 and the season so far in 2009. Do some simple calculations of average occurrences per game, and see how far off you really are.
