How do you?

select certain seasons of individual players to start off a league....I'd like to start a all time franchise league with certain players seasons.

Like having Ichiro's 2001 season to team up with Ken Griffey's 1994 season and Phil Bradley's 1988 season...

how do I do this.

You have to import the players from the historical database.

So, go to your Free Agent screen in your league. You will see a tab at the bottom that says "IMPORT HISTORICAL PLAYER." Click on that tab.

Next you need to find the folder called "historical database" and click on that.

Then this screen will come up:

Click on the year of the player you want. you will need the player's historical ID. If you have Microsoft Excel, you can find this in the Stats folder and the file is called "MASTER" This will give you every player's historical ID. For the example listed above, this will give me Babe Ruth from 1927.

Then click on IMPORT HISTORICAL PLAYER and he will be in your free agent pool.

If you're doing multiple players from the same team, it might be easier to import entire historical teams. Let me know if you need to know how to do that, it's simple.

Also, I would recommend backing up your league every 5 to 10 teams that you make. There's nothing like making 25 teams and then having the game crash. I backup my leagues to my external hard drive.

Hope this helps.

In most cases, the I think the ID is the first five letters of the last name + first two letters of the first name + 01. Only in a few instances, it might be 02 or another number e.g. there may be 8 Joe Smiths. Or in your example, Junior might be griffke02 because I assume his dad is 01.

Or as he pointed out, you can look it up.

thanks, appreciate it...tried it out and it works like a charm, I'm assuming that the players ratings will go up once they are put onto a team, I imported the '27 ruth and the 01' bonds to try it out and there rating were all 1's to 3's(out of 10's) in all categories.

thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

No problem. It's fun to put players from different eras on the same team. I made a Yankees team with A-Rod, Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, Reggie Jackson and Joe Dimaggio all in the same lineup.

Good luck!
