Auto renewing of contracts

I'm just starting to use financials, so pardon me if this is a vague question..

I am assigning contracts to my team to equal what they are IRL. Some players have contracts listed as 1 (auto.) This means they are automatically renewed after the season, correct?

But why are some of these guys showing up as potential free agents? Example, I have like 8 players on the Blue Jays who are showing the "auto" after their years left, but only one guy is showing up as a potential free agent.

I have my arbitration set to off, not sure if this has anything to do with it.

It does.

If you're playing with arby off, I'd assume players are FA's once their auto years are completed. The game is showing that one player as a potential FA because of his service time that may be greater than the other 7, greater to the point that by the end of the season, he will have accrued enough time to be a FA. The other 7 will not have. They will be FA's the following year.
