I need clarification
I have just recently started an historical replay from last year and I have it marked to have players retire when they actually did. I was under the impression if I did that , it would not allow CEI's. I'm half a month into the replay and just found out Cameron Maybin has had a CEI. Is there no way to prevent this from happening and if not, shouldn't this be an option?

Well seeing as how Cameron Maybin is only 22 years old in this real life season, the game has no idea when he's going to retire. Once you get to 2009, the game engine takes over and recalc/retire stops being used by OOTP.
Edit - Okay, you said last year. Are you still in 2008? I would guess that that is still too close for OOTP. But recalc/retire isn't my strong suit since I never use it.

need clarification
I'm still in 2008. It is disappointing that somebody with the potential of Maybin would already be taken out of the mix. Also, I noticed today when playing a game in Toronto that there was a weather report. I thought that the Rogers Centre was all indoors. As far as the retirement issue goes, I really think that if you have it set for players to retire when they actually did that there should not be any career ending injuries. What does everybody else think?

Toronto is a retractable dome (the first one, actually), not a set ceiling.

I've edited an injuries.txt file, removing all CEIs, and attached the file to this post.

another question
Hey Satchel
Thanks for your reply. Sorry to be a pain but where exactly would I download this file to to get it to work. I checked the manual to see if it could help me but the injury file page I looked at was blank. I do appreciate your help. |

In Vista, it'll go somewhere like:
C:\Users\[your_username]\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\database

On my computer, running Windows XP, the proper place for this file is in your OOTPX game's data/database folder. Make sure your game is closed. Then go to the folder, and back up your original injuries.txt file. Either rename it, or cut it out and paste it in a different folder, where you can remember it. Then put the new, modified injuries.txt file into that data/database folder.
Then, open your OOTPX game and go to "Game setup" and at the very bottom of the "Global setup" section, hit "Re-import injury database." |
