Wild Pitches

I just started a new 2009 major league season and have played parts of 4 games. In every game so far, there has been a wild pitch occur. I realize that this is a small sample size but is there somewhere to tone down the chances of this occurring? It seems a bit much to me.

Go to your Game dropdown menu, then Game Setup > League Setup > Strategy. In the League Totals section you'll see a modifier for Wild Pitches.

LOL. Kelric, I haven't been here in months, and you trump me again on the first post! Nice going.

If only the AL East standings were the same way.

I was away for about a month, just trying to get back into the swing of being helpful.

wild pitches

Thanks Kelric

Just curious though, has anybody else noticed this or was it just a fluke to start the season?

Once League Total Modifiers have been calculated for a league, wild pitches for the league as a whole will be fairly realistic. OTOH, certain elements, including balks, passed balls and wild pitches can be quite volatile from season to season, which the LTM calculation isn't really able to control. So those items can diverge from realistic levels more than other elements (e.g., HRs, Ks) during a single season.
