Opinions on trade difficulty

What's the best setting to use -normal, hard or very hard, and why?

It really depends on how you want to play. I have trades on Hard and Favor Prospects. I never propose trades to the AI. The only time I consumate a trade is when I accept the AI's original offer or I use the Shop Around feature (and even then I feel like I can take advantage of the AI on certain deals).

Well, lopsided trades happen occasionally in real life too, so I won't mind taking advantage of the AI once in a while. Just so it's not that way TOO often. I will probably favor prospects too. But I'm curious as to what the "very hard" setting is like?

I've been using Hard and Favor Prospects myself.

Very hard results in an AI so rigid it will only accept offers that obviously are in its favor. In some respects, isn't that what we do? However, even a marginal difference seems to be insignificant. My experience has been that, rarely, it will be agreeable to a trade that involves a couple of established star players. Beyond that, you'll sacrifice to achieve the player or players you want to acquire. That may mean the sheer number of players you give up is considerably more or the ratings quality (usually offensive-oriented, including pitcher's Stu,Con,Mov) will greatly favor the AI. Sometimes it's a challenge to even find a trade it will accept.

Interesting. Sounds like the Hard and Favor Prospects settings are probably the way to go then. Thanks.

For solo play, this is the way to go.

Yep.

I even think I'm getting a bad deal with those settings sometimes. I sit there at times all "it STILL won't accept that deal?"
