Long time lurker
Hi guys,
I am considering switching from another pc sim game but wanted to ask a few questions or perhaps you could point me to the appropriate posts. I haven't gotten the game yet but I am primarily interested in sim online leagues and the GM aspect of it. Is the game easy to learn? Is the ease of importing and exporting files a snap? Any other help would be appreciated. kain360 |

I would try using the search to find topics relating to want you want to know. I'm sure somebody has already asked a lot of the questions you have.
That being said, the is a demo out now for the most recent version of OOTP. I would suggest downloading it and giving it a spin. Yes, it takes some time to learn, but it is well worth the investment. Give it a try.

Exporting files is a snap. You click "Export via FTP" and 20 seconds later, you get a message that says "Successfully exported". I can manage my online club in about 2 minutes if I had to, but, I prefer to spend a lot more. I use the 7 day line-up feature to rest players on the right days, like making sure the LHB slugger takes a day off on Sunday when a LHP is on the mound and Monday is an off-day. That gives him 2 days off in a row, which helps keep him from getting too tired. Online play is the way to go! |

These boards are active, but they are the tip of the iceberg. The online league I am in has 9800 posts in the last two years, and our neighbor league has 7400. There's a lot of stuff to keep you very involved with your leagues, if you look for it.

I've run through the demo and it's extremely comprehensive. I'm looking for a game that will allow me to be the gm rather than playing each individual game which this seems to satisfy. What are the huge differences between running your team on daily game by game basis vs. taking a big picture view of your team and league?

). It's really how much you want to do. Also, you have to recognize (as some people in any computer sim never recognize) that there are limitations to the AI's intelligence. So you have to compensate for that. But I'm pretty happy with what we have now.

Sometimes I play game by game, watching every pitch. Sometimes I sim quickly through a year. They both are fun. Give each a try. There are options to allow your managers and coaches take control of various aspects, such as "minor league lineups", and "signing and releasing players". I think you should be able to set the preferences and options up in a manner that suits you.

I just bought the game after trying out the demo. It took some time to get things up and running but the guys on this site were able to help me and I love this game. I also have Mogul 2010 but now I like this game over Mogul. I still play it but not as much. My advise is BUY IT.
