Trades: AI Offers vs. My Offers

In my solo league I'm past the non-waiver trade deadline and in the August waiver trade deadline period. I have noticed that I am getting what I consider to be unusual trade offers from AI - trade offers that would not be considered fair if I were to present them to an AI Team. One example of the type of trade that I am seeing is:

AI Team:
  • OVR 21/POT 21/37 year old CF currently hitting .230/.267/.327 with 55/40 LF/CF ratings
My Team:
  • OVR 58/POT 59/27 year old C currently hitting .277/.339/.353 with 55/80/85 Ability/Arm/Catcher ratings
  • OVR 21/POT 34/22 year old C currently hitting .230/.249/.424 with 55/55/65 Ability/Arm/Catcher ratings
All ratings are on the 20/80 scale. I've kept the names oout of the description in order to avoid prejudice on the players involved.

I'm not complaining about this. I'm just trying to understand how the game is working, so that I can better understand how to play. I have a feeling that the game would not allow me to click on the Submit button, if I made this type of an offer to an AI controlled team.

Has anyone else noticed something like this?

Thanks.

I have always accepted this as part of negotiating process. I suspect like a car purchase or house purchase, start with a low ball offer to get the process started and see what interest the other party has.

The other teams, just like you will attempt to see how much you can get away with or how much you can rip the other party off of......

I figured it was also just a negotiating ploy, but what I don't get is how the AI can start trade negotiations so low, when the user does not have the ability to do the same.

Thanks.

Actually I think of it this way.

The offer you get from the AI is basically simular to the stage of when you put the initial deal together and read the initial reaction of the other teams GM, then you have a choice to either, "make it work Now" or change the offer.

I rarely accept an offer as initially suggested by the AI, I usually tweak it.
