How to put an FA into draft pool?

In the online Jamaica League that I Commish, we've got an FA whom I want to put into the draft pool next season (we're currently in September, and our draft is next March).

What's the best way to do this?

You can't put an FA in the draft pool. The only thing I can think of is include him as an available player during the draft, place him on the team that picks him, then edit the history.
