OOTP 8 for 2010

Can I play in leagues using OOTP 2010 while using OOTP 2008 without any major problems?

No. The game is not forward compatable (if that's even a term).

Just to clarify, you can have both programs on the same machine. And you can play v8 leagues on v8 and v10 leagues on v10. They do not interfere with each other.

But as dto pointed out above, you can not play v8 leagues on v10 or vice versa.
