AI and pitcher-to-batter ratio

Nutshell: is there a way to adjust the AI's preferred roster composition?

I've played a relatively high-maintenance game so far this run... 7th season, managed probably 40% of all ML innings, no AI control in the minors, bla bla bla and then just now.... "Joey McNoname (A) is ready to come off the DL!"

And I snapped. ENOUGH! I DON'T CARE!

But the AI is just so STUPID when manging rosters... 4 relief pitchers, even when 3 of 5 so-called-starters have < 40 stamina?

Let's see... use of closers: very often. use of relievers: often. The result? 9 pitchers.

Meanwhile, as the relievers' ligaments start turning to overcooked spaghetti, at least two batters at every level would be limited to about 25 plate appearances a season. The stupid, it burns!

I've looked and looked for a way to fix this. It seems like in versions past there was a setting where typical pitcher-to-batter ratio could be adjusted.

Here's hoping the AI's stupid has rubbed off on me, and I am overlooking something really obvious.

Yes... sign of burnout... I know. Soon, the autoplaying of full seasons, the inevitable switch to a basement team, the tragic realization that it wasn't the process of management at all, but the joy of domination, then, years later.... what was that game again... ah, they're up to version 12 now!

The "reliever usage" and the "closer usage" ARE the settings where the typical pitcher-batter ratio can be adjusted.

For example, I use 4-man rotation, with Pitcher Stamina on "High" and "rarely" and "rarely" for relievers and closers. Each team carries 7 pitchers total.

Thanks Alfino. It did seem like that was the only choice, to either accept the micro or the low number of pitchers.

Not bad really - I couldn't have developed a less annoying pet peeve.
