Minor Leagues

I am trying to create a fictional universe and I don't really want 5 levels of minors, but I just want to clarify something.

If I only include A, AA and AAA, will players will still develop reasonable normally? Does not having rookie level mean that players that "should" be at rookie level become hindered, or do they develop ok and A ball just encompasses a different spectrum of players than it would if SA and R were below it?

In other words does the game engine account for what minor levels are present?

Great question...I'd love to know the answer to this as well.

Well, the simple answer to your question is that the fictional players will be create to fit in with the minor league level they fill -- that is what the Player Creation Modifiers are for.

The more difficult question has to do what happens with players who enter a league through a amateur draft. Maybe someone who knows will see this thread and respond. I think with pitchers, it won't matter because pitchers tend to get higher ratings as rookies than they probably should be getting. Batters are a question mark.

I'm hoping that the game adjusts based off of your minor leagues selection. Or maybe you just have to keep guys at a certain level longer to develop more.

Since I am new, I prefer just 3 minor leagues, but if it affects development then I'll have to add more.
