Help adjusting rosters

For the first time in years I'm really getting seriously into OOTP and like every minute of it. But I still have a ton to learn and sometimes for me the manual isn't all that helpful.

Question: I'm trying to play through some of the actual WSox, Cardinal and Cubs games for 2010 with CubbyFan's great file. But how do you finally get all the rosters to be accurate. They are sure close to perfect but it took me close to 45 min to finally get the WSox roster as it should be.

I've spent over 30 min on the Indians roster and I'm still short. Grudzielonick (sp?) is at Min and Redmond is at Baltimore. I can't find Laffey and Marte and Talbot anywhere. That's ok...I'll find them eventually but I was wondering if I could get help on how to get Grud and Redmond. Do I create human managers for those teams and release them so Cleveland could pick them up?

Since I'm only going to play a few games (I play my games pitch by pitch) and the 12th is close I'm just doing this for a few games with v10. But I'll have the same problem when v11 comes out I assume.

I retired two players hoping that would help. I brought them out of retirement but now I can't find them anywhere.

Just having a hard time touching up the rosters. However...I have to admit that while doing the work I've done it's been fun...at least most of the time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Haven't found much help in the manual.

I do not have a definate answer for you. My first thought to move players is go into comisioner mode and put them wherever you want.
For the lost boys, I'm with them.

There is a global search function almost dead center top. Type in the last names of the players you may have lost.

I found a player search area on the opening home manager screen but it is listed down in the column on the far left. Couldn't find anything on several screens in the center top.

Anyway, still can't find some of the players especially those two that I retired and then unretired.

The investigation continues...to some degree. Pretty much just decided to play some general games without putting too much time into this. After all the 12th is so close I can hear the dugout chatter.

It is part of the interface, it isn't on any specific screen. Look on the top where it says Manager | MLB | Teams | Recent | Bookmarks, etc. See the magnifying glass and that box to the right of it? That is your search box.

Mercy...thanks Kelric...and thanks RchW...

I messed with the magnifying glass several times but nothing happened.

Now I know why. Good stuff.

Sure is fun studying all the various details and nuances that OOTP has. Never got into it very much before because I always got bogged down with it.

Win 7 and the 22" screen sure did open up OOTP like a brand new game especially when I figured out the widget screen. Splendid.
