The Sabermetric Baseball Sim is a OOTP historical league. Our website is still a work in progress, but you can already tell it is one of the best OOTP sites on the net! We have an extremely active group of owners with lots of message board participation and a TON of articles written on a regular basis.

We started with the real-life rosters from the 2001 season. All players have been assigned their real-life salaries, so several teams do have some bad contracts to strategize around. However, every team is in a very comfortable financial situation for at least the time being. All teams will have neutralized financial settings to start out - equal fan interest/market sizes, $125 mil salary cap, $100 mil team budget, $5 mil starting cash, $25 mil max cash.

Our league is very participation-oriented to ensure teams stay active. There will be a yearly participation points system (that resets at the end of each season) that will allow teams to "buy" things such as a ratings recalc using a player's real life statistics, exchanging points for team cash, and adding positions that a player has in real life.

Our commissioner is very organized and a strong willed person who will make sure this league stays on its feet. I would highly reccomend this league to people who are looking to join a league that gives you a chance to re-write history for some teams (both good & bad!

Better make sure all the defensive ratings won't tank when you begin the 2002 season. There seems to be a problem with the transition and defense in historical or historical-fictional leagues.

This is a fun league that is moving quickly through the first couple of seasons so that we can build up our minor league systems to make trading happen a bit more often.

If you enjoy the years of when Pujols was getting ready to begin his career, and ARod on roids in Texas, then this league is for you!

Just signed up for this league, pretty fun to start in 01 and relive some things. Everything seems smooth so far with a lot of active managers and a system in place to make it in your best interest to be active.
