Total Sports World information and update

Hello,

As of 9:30 AM this morning, Total Sports World has been hacked into, and all domains attached to the account were illegally transferred. We are currently working to resolve the issue, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

We ask that you please do not visit the website from work, as very NSFW materials have been placed there, and we cannot be held responsible for your job security. In this economy, it may have been in question anyways.

We will update here as soon as we have a working solution in place, and have the website working properly again.

According to the registrar that these domains were stolen and moved to, the sites have been disabled so that the porn is no longer viewable. This may/may not be true, depending upon propagation at your end.

We are working on getting our stolen urls back where they should be so that we may point them to the correct content. Thanks to all from the TSW crew for your patience in this matter.

Just got off with Godaddy:

Since he hacked my account and transfered all the domains to his ownership at another registrar, there's nothing Godaddy can do.

Consequently, we'd have to get new domains and go from there. Stick tight; the Board is discussing what options to take.

You should try to go to the media about this guy. Give out your information and let them run stories about him. If anything, it'll expose him to people and he might be able to get arrested for fraud or other things.

Cooley,

Phone spamming is a poor remedy, and the media won't be much help either. We have a whole system of law for when people step out of bounds and screw someone over. That's what it is for, and that's what it does. It's probably time to use it.

You can sue him in either your home state or in CA. I'd be happy to refer you to an attorney in southern california who could work on it immediately. If I were handling the case (I can't unless you live in WA), I'd be in court the same afternoon you hired me asking for a temporary injunction shutting down all his sites and ordering him to return all domains he took to you. You might never see any money out of it, but it's possible you could be compensated. In any case, he should not be allowed to get away with this.

That's my 2 cents - shoot me an email if you want to talk about your options or want that referral.

Personally Id' go this route. Sue him dry (although five bucks says he's already lacking cash as well as brains) and go from there.

I'd also look into the registar agreement you had(have) with GoDaddy. Any time Iv'e moved domains to another registars I'd have to provide proof that I am who I said I am and over the last two years have documentation faxed in to their office, with 48 hour waiting periods and telephone confirmation of such actions. I doubt they have something as bureaucratic, but if i'd look to see if they didnt' drop the ball and give the keys away to your online house.

Ditto here, when I tried to move my domain name - 48 hour wait and a phone cal to my business line to confirm. And that was actually with GoDaddy too. So it does sound to me like GoDaddy did something wrong here, and you certainly can consider suing them as well if you're unhappy with their response.

Thread moved to Online 10. If one of more of your leagues is still using 9 or previous, we can put redirects from there if you wish.

Also, let's please not encourage fellow OOTPers to participate in activities that could maybe get them into trouble. As has already been pointed out, there are better routes.

Well, I wrote something up. Hopefully some of you will help us. We are all in the same community. Hopefully what we could show, in numbers, will help us get back what is ours.

(I posted this on our backup site.)

---

Hello,

If you're as pissed off as I am that someone has taken our home from us, go to this link:

http://reports.internic.net/cgi/regi...lem-report.cgi

Write up a complaint. Copy and paste this if you wish:

Hello,

I am writing to complain about NameCheap Inc., who is harboring a domain thief. Someone stole five domains from our administrator (the biggest of which are Big Tits and Big Boobs at ABigTits.com and Big Tits and Big Boobs at ABigTits.com) and have used them to distribute hardcore pornography.

The person who took our websites decided to call our administrator and gloat about his "acquisition", adding that there was nothing we could do about it.

We are not a for-profit group, and therefore, we do not have the resources available to fight this legally. We are simply a sports gaming website. Nothing in "Total Sports World" screams porn.

Hopefully you can assist us, and return to us what is rightfully ours. It is unjust that someone with a little technical know-how can outright take someone's online community with no recourse.

We hope that it stops here, and that justice prevails.

Thank you for reading, and we look forward to any and all assistance you provide.

Sincerely,

(Insert Your Name)

----

In order to make this work, we need numbers. Enlist everyone you can. It will take very little on your part to help our cause. It will take very little on anyone's part to help our cause.

Please, help us fight for the community we all love so much.

Thanks,
John

Here To Help

Hello Everone,

This whole situation was brought to my attention by a fellow webmaster that is familiar with both adult and mainstream. I am the owner of the adult site that your stolen property is redirecting too.

Im working on coming up with a solution to redirect your traffic away from my site as we speak. Is there a certain url you would like it to be redirected too? I was just going to use google.

I feel deep sorrow for what has happened here with this thief hacking your godaddy account. I truly have NO idea why he would have randomly chosen my site to redirect your traffic too. Only thing I can think of is my site has high google rankings and maybe he just chose me randomly. I really dont understand.

Im sure there will be some people saying that im not being truthful, etc. You can have namecheap check my account aswell as godaddy. I have domains with both. I do not have your domain and have no interest in your traffic. Im a sports fan myself and would never do such a thing.

If anyone is interested in how I was made aware of this situation you can visit the adult webmaster board at this url: FrozenJag....Please explain this to me - Webmaster forum

Im a well respected webmaster in the adult community and would never cause any harm to anyone. I found this thread through referal traffic in my script, so ill be checking back here to see if anyone has any suggestions for a way I can help.

Thank You!

FJ,

Thanks for your comments. I've seen your link and read the information.

I'm on the Board of Directors. Bottom line: Identity theft. Someone broke into our Admin's Godaddy account and transferred all domains there somewhere else, then set up the redirect to your sites.

We're considering our options right now, but if there is anything you can do on your end to block entry from anyone typing totalsportsworld.net or gridiron-glory.net, it would be greatly appreciated. We know some people visit our site from work, and obviously the above links currently get you in a NSFW situation.

Best of luck getting this resolved in a timely manner. I'd say longevity is one of the most difficult achievements with any OOTP league, and eMLB has perhaps accomplished that better than any other league on the net. It is a shame that this had to happen to one of the leagues that I consider to be a true testament of everything good that can come from OOTP.

Thanks for your kind words on eMLB. They are appreciated.

I'll have eMLB running again tonight. The great news is I ran most of the reports on my own servers that weren't impacted, and I retain full ownership of my domain name, which was separate from TSW's registry. It's the redirect to TSW's server info that was affected.

We just started our 19th season Sunday! I'm going to put this annoying episode past me with a rousing Game of the Week!

We have a way for people to get to our forum boards for leagues:

Total Sports World Forums - Powered by vBulletin

If you're a TSW Community Member, please make sure you pass the information wherever you can to regroup everyone.

The slow process of getting things up and running again is en route. Most leagues should be up and running now, just might only be at 80%.

Thanks for your patience,

Set up a temporary domain for us today since it doesn't look like this is going to be a quick process. Anyways, just change .net with .org. The new link to the TSW Forum is: Total Sports World Forums - Powered by vBulletin

Still got a little bit of clean up to do, but its a start.
