I was the previous owner of the Mets and while it is a great league I have just decided that I am more of a fictional fan for online leagues. The team is still in a decent position but needs some work. I have started the process but just can't get into real players as much as fictional ones. If you like real players this will be a great league!

The Mets definitely have their problems. They are stuck in a competitive division and are sitting in the hole. Attendance is up and we will handle revenue sharing/luxury tax outside of the game now (which should help the Mets quite a bit). If the new GM can unload Santana and Rolen for some prospects they should be in very good shape (Nick Evans is another strong bargaining chip as arguably the best 2B in the league).

This is a great league and run by a great Commish. Lots of extras added to this league. Sorry to see the Mets GM have to step away.
If your interested in joining a league then I definitely suggest you join this one!! |

Mets have been filled; but since I have not received an export from Pittsburgh nor San Francisco in over 2 months and they have not replied to emails, I'm going to start looking for their replacements.
Both teams have a lot of potential and could be winning clubs under the right leadership. They have both suffered from sporadic and multiple GMs over the past few seasons. If you are interested, please contact me via email or PM

We are still full in the BLB, but always looking for quality GMs to place on the waiting list!
We will hit roster expansion, 2011 in the next sim on Saturday. Currently the two teams that faced off in the 2010 World Series, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay, are not even in position to make the playoffs! If the season were to end today, 5 teams that were in the post-season a year ago would be left out in the cold. Lots of interesting story lines in 2011. The Seattle Mariners dumped a truckload of cash at Dice-K's feet and are making a strong push at their first playoff appearance since the inaugural season. (getting Donald Veal off waivers hasn't hurt either). The Oakland Athletics have the 2nd lowest payroll in the league but are competing for a playoff spot on the backs of possibly the most impressive collection of young stars in the league, lead by ROY front-runner Jonathan Johnston and Brad Hertzler (who tossed a no-no earlier in the year). The , who dominated the AL East in 2010, have seen their offense and bullpen crumble and sit in 4th place despite having possibly the best 1-2-3 punch in the league with David Price, Roy Halladay, and C.C. Sabathia. The Milwaukee Brewers are poised to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2008 mainly due to two starting pitchers they plucked off the scrap heap, ironically both from the AL Central leading Cleveland Indians. Kelvin De la Cruz was selected in the Rule 5 draft and is approaching 15 victories while J.D. Martin, a free agent signing who had been mis-evaluated by Cleveland never pitching above AA, is fast approaching 20 wins with a sub-3.00 ERA. There are some good individual stories as well (aside from J.D. Martin). 2008 24th round selection, Jack Francis, is leading the league in strikeouts; Ross Detwiler, Jimmy Rollins, and Placido Polanco (who all had their careers threatened by injury) have had successful comebacks in 2011; 38 year-old Nomar Garciaparra has been reborn in Seattle; Vladimir Guerrero and Edgar Renteria reached 2500 hits; Scott Rolen and Ryan Howard reached the 300 HR plateau; Lance Berkman topped 400 HR; A-Rod continues his assault on the record books, he will likely top 2800 hits, will pass Willie Mays on the HR list, and could pass Junior depending how much playing time Griffey gets; and Derek Jeter was able to reach 3000 hits (warning, PDF) recently. Come on over and join the fun, you never know you could have a team in 2012!

We just finished the 2011 season and I'll be posting open teams if those on the waiting list pass.
We had a Bud Selig nightmare World Series as the Royals and Brewers clashed in the fall classic. The Royals had an amazing run and vaulted the Indians in the last month of the season for a playoff berth, then steamrolled the powerful Mariners and Orioles to make the series. The Brewers on the other hand, led the NL Central nearly wire-to-wire and had one of the best records in all of baseball most of the season. They dispatched of the Braves and Dodgers rather easily. The Series looked like a rout early on with the Brewers shelling the Royals in Milwaukee in games 1 and 2. But the Royals showed they had the talent and weren't simply riding a wave of momentum by taking the Brewers to 7 games. In game 7 only 33,000 fans turned out to Miller Park to see what turned out to be an amazing game. Trailing by 2 in the bottom of the 8th, the Brewers got a 2-run, pinch-hit HR to tie it up; then got a walk-off 2B by defensive sub Jhonny Peralta in the bottom of the 9th!

Opening Day 2012 has come and gone in the BLB and we're off and rolling! There are some nice previews going up on the site, take a look if you are curious. We are currently full but have a waiting list of just 2 right now and are always looking for quality GMs
![]() We voted on our first Hall of Fame class with Rickey Henderson (he wasn't in yet in 2008 when we started) and Craig Biggio were the two inductees.
