eMLB converts to OOTP X - Will have openings in Nippon Leagues!

Soon to be decade old league converts to OOTP X!

Electronic Major League Baseball, affectionately known as eMLB, a league that has been running successfully since July 19, 2000, has finished up its 19th season, and heads into it's 20th Anniversary season with 29 of its 30 owners. The great thing is that 7 people who were in this league on Day 1 over 9 years ago are still here!

The Washington Nationals just hired Nolan Bryant from Tohoku of the eMLB Nippon Leagues, established the previous season when eMLB Commissioner James "LB" LeBlond recognized that there were people on the waiting list more than a year that still wanted to join, and the list was 17 deep!

eMLB anticipates that there will be 2-3 individuals who will no longer remain with the Nippon Leagues, and we'll be looking to fill them up with talented GMs who want a challenge.

eMLB is a proud member of Total Sports World

What to expect in eMLB:
- A great time
- A dedicated Commissioner who absolutely LOVES what he does. If anyone knew the hours invested reconstructing eMLB History since we weren't always an OOTP League (Been OOTP since '03), you'd think I'm nuts.
- A challenge with additional rules to make eMLB a real thinker's/planner's experience
- Scouts and Coaches are on. If you don't like that, don't apply.
- A constant proactive environment
- A couple powerhouse teams that need to be dethroned. You got the skill to do it?
- The support of a great community like Total Sports World
- Sim schedule: Regular season - 2 times/week, Offseason - Daily, but very methodical

What eMLB would expect of you:
- We don't ask this to be your only league, but we ask that you are absolutely serious about joining us if you sign up. eMLB doesn't tolerate inactivity, and has been around and earned the notoriety to be selective on who it brings aboard.
- Passion. Those in eMLB are very passionate about baseball. They enjoy the challenge.
- Patience. eMLB has been around long enough, and there's rarely an opening. If there's no room, be patient and learn what makes eMLB such a unique experience. Also, you don't get into the Bigs directly anymore, having a 12-GM "minor" league in the Nippon Leagues to learn the league.
- Activity. As said earlier, it can't be stressed how important it is for you to be active. You must be willing to invest the time if you are willing to compete.
- Enjoy a more complex league. eMLB was always intended to be more than what you could get out of the game it was used in (High Heat, OOTP).

Interested?

Contact LB for more information. Send an e-mail to the eMLB Commissioner's Office, with a little bit about your background in online leagues, and what your expectations are in joining a league like eMLB.

Friendly bump - I'm starting to fill the 5 spots open in our Nippon "minor" leagues. Apparently some migration issues my new server caused cost me many who are new to eMLB. I've still got all my long-termers, and only lost 1 in the Bigs this year, the first time in 15 RL months since I replaced someone.

We have some openings in the Nippon Leagues after a little bit of reorganization.

Please Note: To get into the eMLB Major League teams, you have to spend some time in the Nippon Leagues. Please do not apply if this does not appeal to you...save both of us time and energy.

eMLB's 20th Season will begin soon! Come join the fun! Apply above in the original post.

Another friendly bump

We're just about ready to begin our 20th season in eMLB, as we'll start the season just before the holidays officially hit.

Still looking for a few more people interested in some of our Nippon League teams, that hope to make a name for themselves and enter the eMLB ranks.

I will be looking for 3 new GMs in our Hanshin, Seibu, or Yakult teams in Japan.

Not to vent, but I've done this long enough that there's always a particular trend with people. So, some pieces of advice for anyone applying to ANY league...but for this matter, mine in particular (since I'm trying to earn your "business"):

- Be serious about this. The reason this league has existed for so long is the dedication and commitment of all its longtime members. Don't apply if you're really window shopping. We're an older group (30+) in general. We're not a kids league or a Geocities special that will be gone in 6 days.

- Understand what you're applying for. We don't know you...you've not proven why you should be in eMLB, so don't apply thinking you can skip the Nippon Leagues....All roads leading to eMLB's Major Leagues roll through Japan!

- Don't play the "new job" angle with me. If you suspect you're too busy right now, then save us both the time...and my fellow GMs the aggravation of seeing teams not be filled. Any Commissioner will tell you that they invest a lot of time and energy training/setting a new GM up...one recent person ran me through the entire process....numerous e-mails and setup, only to bail a month later with one FTP to show for the huge investment in them.

- Don't apply if you're in 18 other leagues, and can barely keep track of them. We want the person who has enough time to play our game, but play it seriously looking to be part of something very special in online games. Like any longtime league...winning it all means something a little more...extra bragging rights against some longtimers is always fun in itself!

Our league is looking for the dedicated person who thinks they can muscle their way out of Japan...is it you?
