New Current League with a twist

A new startup league with a bit of a twist will start in a few weeks when we have all 24 Gms signed up.
Some of the unique aspects of this league.

The Minnesota Twins GM stepped down, they are available right now. The contract draft held tree rounds last night and they selected...Sp Roy Oswalt, OF Lastings Milledge and SS Marco Scutaro. They still get to released 2 2.5 star or under players and recalc 2 players to their 2009 stats if they choose. We have 2 sims of Free Agency this week (Mon and Wed) before opening day on Friday. Nows the time, you haven't missed much, and I think i picked to suit the team needs last night. Round 4 of the contraction draft is under way in the forums now. So there are still improvements that can be made. Email me ASAP.

6 contracted teams payrolls will be distributed evenly to all 24 teams thru media contracts
You can recalc 2 players on your team to their 2009 stats. Helps with guys like Ben Zobrist whose ratings will never get him close to his 2009
You can also release 2 players without penalty, players must be 2.5 star or below to qualify.

it's being built currently, as soon as I'm finished, a link will be added. Sorry to jump the gun, but I wasn't sure how many Gm's would like the altered format I chose, so wanted to make sure I could get the league full. With the holiday coming up, I'm guessing it'll be complete in about a week

What do the divisions and playoffs look like after contraction? What teams were contracted? Surprised Tampa wasn't one of them!

the way i've set it up is that the initial 24 owners will decide which teams get contracted by which teams they choose, the remaining 8 will be contracted, then we'll rearrange the divisions/leagues apporpriately

I'm sorry, thought only Detroit and Tampa were all that was left. I'm interested in the Dodgers. I'll have to see the league before I'll 100% commit but would like to get my name on the team. IF you need some help, let me know, I've got some experience running a league.

I have been in many leagues.
I can't tell u how this league will be operated but so far i have been impressed that everything that has been promised has been done on time.

I think this will be a real good league. get in while teams still are left.

Cool features of this league
- Dump 2 bad contracts before start
- Recalc the ratings for 2 players based on their 2009 stats in real life before start.
- Revenue will be increased to accomodate contraction draft players. We'll add the 6 teams payrolls together and divide that number by 24 and add it to the remaining 24 teams.
- Salary Cap at 150 million

Some questions.

1) How will you decide on the draft order ?

2) Will you be able to draft any player within an organisation or just major league players ?

3) As trading started ?

4) On post #13 it says Cleveland taken but they are still listed amongst the available teams, which is it ?

1. Draft order is based on 2008 standings

2. Any player within a contracted teams organization is able to be drafted

3. Trading is not open until the league is full

4. Someone said they were taking Cleveland but we never heard from them again, it's been a number of days and no sign of him, so they're available.
