New Laseron Baseball Association Sign Up
The setup for the New Laseron Baseball Association is nearing completion. If you’ve expressed interest on here or at the new Laseron website, please follow this link to the site and state a preference for a city.
There will be a picking order established once, we fill the league. New owners or previous owners of teams that had a lot of ownership changes, you can put your preferences in this thread, but you won't be able to hard commit until its your turn (based on join date to the forums). Previous owners do get priority, but don't worry...there will be enough teams/cities. The major league initially will have either 16 or 20 teams depending on interest. There are roughly 30 “major league” cities from which you can choose. There will be another “independent” league if we get more interest. If you were an owner in the original league, you can sign up for them again. The league still has the originial logos. But Goody the original founder and commissioner can update the look. If you will be a newcomer, he is creating custom logos for new teams. Some of the league settings have been tentatively set. You can find the league settings here: LBA Settings You’ll want to join in now and be part of the planning stage.

Woo hoo!
If you expressed interest before now I need to know for sure if you are going to join or just watch, by posting in the above thread that Dark Horse linked. I'm stocking up tonight for the big snow they are saying is headed (we already got a lot 2 days ago). They said get food and supplies for 5 days... There goes my vacation but it should mean good news for the league getting finished, as long as the power doesn't go out! Here's a few features of the league:

Even though I don't have time to be a part of another online league, I'd like to give significant kudos to Goody (and Dark Horse and anyone else associated with re-creation of Laseron) for getting a league like this together and put it together with such amazing detail.
I've kicked around the forums and site the last couple of weeks and I was absolutely astonished at what I saw. Good luck to the Laseron Baseball Association! I will be following along and maybe someday applying for membership

And that sounds good if you just want to follow along for now. We appreciate everyone who gets involved whether they have a team or not.Lots of people have wanted to help out more but I've got a vision and probably been a little overbearing with it. Thanks to the other LBA long time members for your patience with that.

I'll be checking in here all night as I work on the league.
If you register at our message boards, send me a PM on here since it gives me a pop up notification and the league message board does not...so I can activate your registration. (spambots are relentless on the web these days) |

Okay, by my count we have 17 owners sign up. We'll need at three more.
Also, if we get more than twenty owners the plan is to open up an independent league for ownership.

As an owner in the old LBA (and re-joining this version) I have no reservations about recommending this league! There is no way this will not be a huge success and potential GMs will regret missing out on opening day! Easily the most memorable league I was ever part of. Amazing commish, amazing ideas and amazing owners! And that is no disrespect to the other leagues I am/was part of. This league was just on a whole other level.

I was not in the old LBA but remember reading about it. I have been impressed with the amount of time and work Goody has put in over the past few months and the enthusiasm of the former league members.
I have signed up for the new league as the Firun City Fusion and am looking forward to it. With a great commissioner, knowledgeable former members, and enthusiastic new owners I think that this league will be great! |

Hi All,
I have been following the rebirth of the New Laseron Baseball League and it looks like something that I would really enjoy being a part of. My problem is (a) I have never participated in an online league so I don't know much about what is required of a good manager, and (b) my job is such that for several weeks during the summer I have very limited free time to devote to a league. My question is: could someone with limited time and no experience still be a solid contributor to such a league? How much time in any given week would someone need to devote to the league in order to be a good manager? Is the schedule such that if a manager can not be available at a certain time/day each week, would he be unable to perform his required duties? The last thing I want to do is sign up for this (or any) league and then be unreliable/unavailable when needed. I would rather just follow along and be envious of the other managers. I don't like to do things if I can't do them well, but I also don't like to spend all my time on the sidelines. Any honest advice/info along these lines would be most appreciated. Thanks, guys. |

Honestly the fact you actually care about your reliability means you would probably make a good owner. I work shift work and there are periods I have almost no time for the league as well so it can be done. The most important thing is exporting regularly to keep your team up to date and following and contributing on the forums. That doesn't mean you have to live there but you should check it almost every day and post semi-frequently. Forming a mini-community is the key to having fun in these leagues and was part of the reason the old LBA was such a huge success. What I do is on days I have a bit of free time, I make a point of looking my team over for tweaks, changes, approaching other teams for trades etc. Stuff I don't have time for every day. Every now and then I post an article on my team as well. That way on busy days I just adjust for injuries and such and hit export. Literally takes 5-10 minutes. Usually when having a coffee before work I check the forums. Really it's not a big commitment so long as you can devote a bit of time each day (or most days). As for being new don't let that stop you! The LBA was the first league I ever joined and we love having new, enthusiastic owners. If you need any help, tips etc. our owners were always more than happy to help. Last edited by JAttractive; 02-11-2010 at 08:10 PM. |

Thanks for the advice, JAttractive. Certainly what you are saying would put my mind at ease. My work has me away from my computer many days from May to September, but I would think there are only a few days where it would be tough for me to find a few minutes. I like the whole idea of this league and have already registered on your site. I will need to give this a bit more thought.
One more thing: I am not computer illiterate but neither am I a geek. How difficult is it to use two different computers to do my downloads? I have OOTP on both but have never tried to run the same solo league on both at once. It would be a big help if I could use both work and home computers to do my weekly downloads. How difficult is it to do that? Thanks again for all your help. |

EDIT: DH beat me. That's what I get for being long winded!
Hey Jack, I would echo what J said in his post. As for the two computers, you will just download the initial file on both computers you will use. After that, you will need to ensure you import the most recent file to which ever computer you export from. As long as you do that, you can switch back and forth as you wish. Would love to have you in the LBA Jack!
