Established alternate historical league opening (1971)

The United League, a 12-team alternate history league using historical players and OOTP X has an opening. The league dates from 2003 and is entering its 21st season with a stable group of active GMs and good parity (6 different World Series winners in last 6 seasons). The league sims every 4-5 days and each sim covers a half-month. Because we have about half the number of teams as real life, every team has several star players.

The open team, the Manhattan Gray Sox, won the World Series in 1968, narrowly missed the Series in '69, and fell hard in 1970. They have a bloated payroll that will need some trimming and an aging roster, but several great stars around which to build, including 2-time MVP Joe Torre, Ron Santo, Phil Niekro, Tom Seaver, Willie Stargell.

We use arbitration after 5 years, FA after 9, and have a salary cap system. We use AAA farm teams and drop unsigned free agents into a Double-A developmental league. For more information, visit our Rules page.
