United Nations Baseball! Brand New Fictional League

Let me start out by saying that my goal is to create one of the longest running and most respected/entertaining fictional leagues in OOTP. I have partnered up with 2 individuals who both currently run their own leagues so there is no shortage of capable people to take this league into the future.

Currently, we are accepting applications. As of now, we have 7 very solid GM's with a great deal of experience committed to the league and we are looking for more. Please understand that due to the high expectations of the league, registration will NOT be on a first come basis. Rather, all applications will be reviewed and deserving candidates will be contacted. Here's some info on the League:

Name: United Nations Baseball
Teams: 24
Structure: 2 Subleagues, 3 Divisions each, 4 Teams per division
Game: OOTP X (no plans to switch to 11 anytime soon, hopefully not at all)

Each division be based in either a country or a continent (meaning all teams in that division will be located accordingly). If groupings occur by country, we will have players from 6 different nationalities in our league.

***We are currently discussing the potential of this being a promotion/relegation league in which 1 subleague within the game is the superior subleague and the 2nd subleague consists of the 12 lower level teams. This proposed idea would see no interleague play between subleagues BUT playoffs would proceed as normal and the Championships would see the Top Team from the better subleague face off vs the top team from the lower subleague. In theory, the top subleague team should almost always win that series, but perhaps an upset could occur! Winners of the 3 divisions in the lower subleague would be promoted to the higher subleague at the end of the season, and the last place teams in each division of the higher subleague would be demoted.

I am currently considering this option only and taking feedback from the current committed GM's. It is possible this could also run as a regular league. Now for more info:

Website: TBD...We WILL have a fully functioning website, but I want to make sure I have enough interest before shelling out the dough.

Other Rules:
Scouts and Coaches: Off
Ratings: 1-10, Stars OFF
Minors: 3 Levels (AAA, AA, A)
DH: No
Salary Cap: 90 million (negotiable)
Rookie Draft: 10 Rounds to be held in the off-season
FA Compensation: No
Contracts: Must be for the same amount each season

There will be other rules as well, but those are the main ones so you all have an idea. As you can see, with a hard salary cap and no FA compensation the key in this league will be parity. It will be incredibly difficult for a team to build a dynasty, especially with a league full of capable saavy GMs.

This will be a great opportunity! I will be talking with league members as I create and test the file, and our forum will be up once I feel the league has enough interest. Custom logos and jerseys will be around as well!

Interest is rising steadily in this league! Only 11 spots left available, listed in the quote above. If interested I can email you logos.

We now have a forum (I'm setting it up currently) where discussion of league rules will take place prior to our first season. A website will be coming once I get closer to filling those last 11 spots.

File testing has also begun and things are looking good so far. I seem to have gotten the right amount of talent so that a 7/10 in contact means, in most cases, a player will be hitting around the .300 range. The next hurdles in testing are to scrutinize the finances, scheduling, and development.

See original post for email and information!

Only 10 spots left!!!

There are 5 people in the league who commish other long-time well run leagues. I think that says something to the kind of group we have here and also for the long-term stability of this league.

There is no shortage of people who know the in's and out's of running a successful league.
