Game downloaded and installed but it is not running when i click on icon
So i have purchased a license for the game and have downloaded and installed the game. When i click on the icon nothing happens. I go into the start menu and try to run the application from there and still nothing happens. I uninstalled and then re-downloaded the application and still was getting the same results... any ideas as to how to get the application to actually run??

What operating system are you using and when you say nothing happens, is that literal? Nothing at all happens? And I assume, but have to ask, you mean double-click on the icon, right?

I am having the same problem on my laptop. Double click on the icon and absolutely nothing happens. I've also tried running it through the Start menu and that doesn't work either.
I even uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. I click on the icon, get an hourglass for a few seconds, it goes away, and nothing. I'm running Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron. PS: I'm using the same downloaded installation file that I used on my desktop and that is installed and running fine. So it's not an issue with the original file. If you click on the actual exe file which is usually installed to C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10
double click on the file ootp10.exe Also, have you checked the system event logs to see if there's any error being reported there?

Please try this, with apologies because I'm running XP and not Vista
1. Go to C:\Users\owner\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\config. (Where "owner" is your user name. These folders may be hidden on your computer depending on your settings.) 2. Open the "app" file with Notepad or some other simple text editor. 3. Look for the line that says trace_mode, and change the value from a 0 to a 1. 4. Save and close the file. 5. Try to start up OOTP. It should still fail, since this hasn't fixed anything yet. 6. Look in C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10 or wherever the program is installed for a file called ootp.log, and provide that information! Thanks, Steve |

Kemp, try this:
1. Make a copy of your OOTP 10 shortcut. 2. Edit the properties of the new shortcut to add "-tracemode" to the end, so it looks something like this: "C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\ootp10.exe" -tracemode (It may not be exactly that directory on your machine; what's important is the "-tracemode" at the end.) 3. Start the game using this modified shortcut. It should still fail, since this hasn't fixed anything yet. 4. Look in C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10 or wherever the program is installed for a file called ootp.log, and provide that information. Thanks, Steve Last edited by Andreas Raht; 06-30-2009 at 01:15 PM. |

Hmm, I'm suspicious that it isn't OOTP at all that's having the trouble, it's eLicense, especially since tracemode failed to generate a log.
Try this: (shut all programs down first) 1. Click Start 2. Select Control Panel 3. Select System 4. Click the Advanced tab 5. In the Performance region select Settings 6. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab in the dialog box that opens 7. Select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select" 8. Click Add. 9. The open dialog box will open. Browse to c:\windows and select "runservice.exe". This is an eLicense file. (If it's not in c:\windows, do a search on your computer to find it.) 10. Click Apply 11. Click Ok 12. Reboot 13. Try loading OOTP again and let me know what happens! |

The laptop caught fire and blew up.
I'm kidding, something different DID happen this time. I got a pop-up box that said: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application" |
