Improved sound.
I'm not asking a for a lot here. Simply a volume increase when the home team does something positive. And maybe a boo when the home manager argues a call. Maybe some organ sounds or pop music to spice things up. The way it works for me now, is one monotonous drone that doesn't react to the game and repeats too frequently. But I still listen to it because it's better than nothing. Last edited by jmknpk2; 11-13-2009 at 07:03 PM. |

You could start by actually listening to suggestions.

Coach's stats: League ranking for BA, OBA and SLG for hitting coach's and ERA, K/9, BB/9 for pitching coach's so I could compare when looking to hire those positions........Trade block for AI seems weak. AI only puts older players on. I would like to see AI also use it for players it does not or can't sign before becoming a free agent. Would be very usefull before trade deadline.

1) AI warm ups for the bullpen
2) Fix the ball path on the main screen 3) Mix up the play by play more so it's more unpredictable (I've never had a HR when the call is "hit to left field... hooking down the link...it's a home run if it stays fair...foul ball!") And the big one more me: I want to be hired by a GM to manage a MLB ballclub. I don't want to worry about any financials, I just want to set lineups, manage games, and most imporantly influence what guys to trade for and who to pick up on free agency and Rule 7 drafts, etc. I want input on building a team but in the end I want the GM to make the decisions. Obviously most of this can already be done, but not to the degree where it's realistic. |

I would like to see a simple graphical rendition as per Football Manager. This would take significantly longer to implement than most other features, so perhaps this is a request for OOTP 12.
It would be great to see the actual dimensions of the ballpark come into play Live onscreen, such as a huge green monster-esque wall. Or a long fly ball caught up in a stiff wind to right field. This would require a physics based engine, or at least pseudo physics based, much like the old FPS Baseball series. A lot to ask for I know, but it's what I want in a baseball game.

In historical leagues, transactions/movement as they occurred in real life. For example, play out a history starting at 1900, with the players on their teams as they were in real-life. But then as real-life transfers/transactions occurred, mirror them in game. This could be done automatically, or maybe simply send an email that a real-life transaction occurred on such and such date, and offer the player an option to accept or decline (and the option would be greyed out if the players were not aligned as on the real-life teams).
I know this option would not be easy and would probably entail the inclusion of another database of transactions. But I think it would be very well received. By the way, the reason that I don't play historical is because it is far too much work and trouble to keep teams up to date with their actual historical rosters. What I would hope I could do is to re-play history in order to familiarize myself with the players of the '20s and '30s. But when I attempt this, I either end up with teams that do not match the real-life teams, or spend hours just to progress through a short period of league-play time (while I investigate and make the numerous transactions). |

Another neat option would be instead of the quotes in the hints.txt, to have multiple choice trivia questions. Of course the screen would need to stay up there instead of automatically disappearing, until the player made his guess or skipped the question.
And of course we would want to have this additional user action optional, defaulting back to just the hints.txt if the user preferred. |

Just wanted to throw one in I hadn't thought of before, inspired by the thread from a few days ago on nicknames...
I'd like to see the nicknames file (make that "nick_names" file) utilize conditions to determine which nicknames are given to which players. I was thinking the file could include conditions for traits like handedness, height/weight, position, nationality, speed and power. This would eliminate misnomers like "Lefty" for a right-handed player, "The Big... (anything)" for a player who's only 5'6'' and 155 lbs, "Flamethrower" for a DH, "Frenchy" for a Japanese player, "Zippy" for a player with a speed rating of 2, or "Ball Crusher" for a player who has 7 career homeruns over 12 seasons.

Point is, I'd love to see additional "hints" options, like yours and/or Larry's, in the next version. I also agree that it would be cool to have some sort of "continue" button pop up once your page finishes loading so whatever you're reading doesn't just disappear on you. (I hate that! I've had to search the hints.txt file more than once to find the last part of something I was in the middle of reading when it went away!)

better support for custom dafted leagues
Not surprisingly, I would like to see some kind coaches signing period brought back, as was in 6.5 (?) and maybe a couple of years after.
Also when you take over a team I would like to see that GM placed under available personell, instead of deleted. Again, this is something I believe occurred in previous versions of the game. OOTP has long felt like it is several ame modules in one. It has also felt like it is not a game for those who like to do custom leagues. It really would be nice if you could set up a league by signing your personell, having a draft and starting a game. The pipedream: I'd like at least Microleague style graphics, but this is a huge undertaking that is probably quite unrealistic at this point. |

Saving
I would like to see an option that will allow the game to auto save based on time rather then days simmed. Every 30 minutes would be great as I always forget to save during long editing times.

I think that has been mentioned before. I sure would like to see these implemented in OOTP XI.

ability to select hof'er to a team...ie player that might have played his best years possibly for a team that did not draft him or farm him and one he may not have retired for...
also, hof at a team level would be cool. |

I would like to see the AI improved to correct the following issue:
I have a couple Rookie League teams in my system and when I allow the computer to set up my minor league system, one of my rookine teams never has any outfielders. I have to manually move 5-6 outfielders from my other rookie team (it has 12-15 outfielders) to gain a balance. This happens to me 5-8 times a season as I like to have the AI set up my minor league teams periodically as players move around to compensate for injuries, after the draft, etc. I know many don't use this feature, but if it is in the game it ought to be able to handle balancing positions among all my minor league teams. |

1) When sorting players in the “Roster” tab and switching from “Batters only” or “Pitchers only” to “All Players” sort to the top.
2) CTRL/Left Click key stroke, or something similar that allows multiple players to be selected at once. 3) Modern Financials include Season Ticket Sales. It would allow pre-season/Spring Training budgeting/financial planning. 4) “Pitching Calendar” Allow the current schedule to be used for setting my starting pitching staff. This would allow me to forecast SP with more control and accuracy than the current “Pitching” tab allows. 5) “Line-up Calendar” Same as pitching just line ups. 6) Manager home page- Install a link to the “Schedule” tab 7) “Financials”- Graph charts tracking Attendance, Player expenses, Yearly Budgets, Gate Revenue, Merchandise Sales, Media Revenue, Playoff Revenue, etc.

Customizable # of innings, customizable # of extra innings, which team bats first... there's a lot of stuff to do, and only 4 to 6 months to do it in.
