Windows-standard select all, copy, cut, paste, and undo commands.
CTRL+A: Select All CTRL+C: Copy CTRL+X: Cut CTRL+V: Paste CTRL+Z: Undo This isn't rocket science, my wife can add these commands (and much more besides) to far more complex programs in a single day. And has. These commands should have been in the game since OOTP 2006. They should have been the keystone of the interface rewrite from 6.5. They are far too overdue. They should be the first thing coded for 11.

The list, for me, hasnt changed in years:
1.) Multiple-league playoffs. At present there is no practical way to simulate playoffs involving more than two leagues. 2.) Ability to import historical players, teams, or leagues without the attached history trailing along. For example, importing Babe Ruth from 1927 into 2009 brings along the entire Ruthian pre-history from 1914 on. This defeats the possibility of an on-going mix n' match league. 3.) Ability to randomize the names in a specific draft class or historical import. I know that random name generation exists, Im talking about randomizing player names from any specific import: say you want to start in 1920, but want the names changed so that you dont know Babe Ruth is the Ruth of history, or even that a Babe Ruth exists--with talents only, or ratings hidden, you wouldnt know that "Babe Hornsby" was a helluva hitter or some scrub with a dismal future...or maybe a pitcher. The randomization would add replay value and vastly increase the difficulty level for historical-fictional players. 4.) The ability to sort HOF members by column type: date of entry, games played, hits, ERA, etc. Theres more but Ill stop for now. |

Feedback Needed(!)
Not that I'm really expecting to hear anything new before the end of the year, but now that this thread has reached its 12th page, perhaps WE could get a little feedback from Markus and Company.
Assuming they're still targeting a Spring 2010 release for v11, I'd imagine at least the process for assembling a design team would be underway at this point. (While I'm familiar with the beta testing application process, I'm not sure when and how design team members are selected.) Since I've been angling to get on the design team for a while, I'd be extremely interested in hearing some information about the process. And I'd suspect several other OOTP community members who have posted some really detailed, well-thought-out ideas in this and other suggestion threads would be interested, too.

Not sure if these have been mentioned yet....
More complete arbitration, tender/non-tender system. Ability to update player development screen on demand. Last edited by novamustangs; 12-17-2009 at 08:52 AM. |

... and ice cream. I can't imagine anyone being happy with pie unless there's an option for ice cream along with it. Ok, some suggestions from me: 1. Trade history tracking - there's currently no easy way to look back on historical trades. Even if it's just a listing in the database that we can review and click on the players, that'd be great. 2. Add stint to the data dump for player statistics. e.g. Bob Jones is traded from the Yankees to the Angels and then back to the Yankees. The DB should have the stats labeled as stint 1, 2, and 3, allowing people to differentiate between the 1st and 2nd Yankees stint, as well as the order of when Jones played for the Angels. 3. Better financial AI - this is vague, but the financial AI is very week when it comes to multiple financial leagues in the same world. Players should have league preferences (say for MLB over NPB), and teams should be able to understand the concept of acquiring players from independent minor leagues. There's just so much to be done here. 4. Additional/Alternate Team Nicknames - these could be used in the news articles to change things up a bit. Would include things like "Sawx" as an alternate for "Red Sox", or even allow people to apply temporary nicknames to teams such as "Blake Street Bombers" that might only stick for a few seasons.

I'd love to see ERA+ and OPS+, would make it much easier to judge players in different eras.

Indicator that the 7-day lineups are in use. Something like a big blinking red light on the regular lineups and pitching screens.
I just forgot that I had the 7-day lineups from the prior post-season in use and it wreaked havoc with my team. I know I'm not the only one who forgets about this. |

We could use cut and paste to promote or demote a group of players. We could use cut by itself to delete a group of them.

I would like another option added to recalc. I would like to recalc and have it retain the fielding experience the player has aquired up to that point, either from prior real seasons or their OOTP career.
The reason for this is because sometimes I like to play recalc to get a more realistic batting or pitching perrformance, but it doesn't make sense to lose their fielding experience. If Robin Yount played SS for years, he shouldn't have to start from square one after the season he moved to CF in real life. He should be able to play SS or CF. This new recalc behavior should be an option (not mandatory) because some players like to do more strict season replays and would want the player at the position they played at in real life. |

Personally, I would like some more flexibility for nations allowed in a league. Unless I tweak the files, I may be scouting African players in 1901 (when really those nations should be colonies). Setting foreigner percentage to 0 is an imperfect solution, because I might - in 1901 - want to be able to add Canucks (who were actually Brits at the time).
Actually, what I think I would like is a "historical nations" database, for various times during the 20th century. E.g. you would have the GDR and USSR if you play a league in the 1960s or 70s, or Ottoman empire if you play before 1919. I do understand, though, that this is not very high on the priority list except for strange history nerds with ideas for international "what if" leagues. ![]()

My wife gives those commands to the maid and to the gardener. And it's never, ever showing off if you can do it.

For Free Agent Compensation, the ability to edit whether a player is Type A or B or not at all actually - too many lousy MRs getting declared Type A after 20 bad innings that year..
Also, the ability to reorder and pick the supplemental rounds |

After playing FM 10 this off season, I would definitely like to see OOTP take the next step towards total immersion and start to implement a 2D engine. 3D would be asking for two much at this point. But, I think this series needs to take another huge step forward, and this would be it.
Oh, and more team statistic splits please |

I think the game engine is very good, as it does a good job of simulating real life. Random teams play well for a year, random players play well for a year, and vice versa. My only suggestions are to add more important data to the game, or to make certain aspects less cumbersome:
1- Manager/Coaching histories: I would like to see the win/loss record plus offense or pitching statistics of all managers, coaches, and GM's. 2- Scouting director histories: List major draftees, major international signings, and major busts of both... I want to know exactly who I'm hiring to be my scouting director. 3- Have more control over exactly what data is stored as to limit the file size. 4- Choice of periodic updates (every 2-12 weeks) on minor league players stats and whether they're competing or drowning in their present level. I feel like I lose myself every month or so in the game trying to keep track of who is doing well and who is not. Suggestions from others that I like very much: Afino said: Editable milestones and accomplishments. endgame said: Award the manager of the year to the manager. silvam14 said: I know this has been mentioned by Markus as a "like to see happen" but a Stadium builder would be nice. --Option to have player inducted in hall of fame choose which jersey/cap is on his picture. (If you could make it a somewhat similar bronzed statue looking picture like in real life, so much the better) OakDragon said: Allow HS feeders to be subordinate to college feeders (like minor league teams are to majors) so that they actually feed into said leagues. Corsairs idea of building towards a detailed amateur draft RebelFan said: I'd like to see the AI manage a little differently in Game 7's or other "elimination" games. said:
