FA Compensation in OOTP 11

I have not heard if these things were added in... so I thought I'd ask.

(1) Will we have the ability in OOTP 11 to set a deadline by which FA Compensation picks are no longer awarded when Type A or Type B players are signs (for instance, after opening day).

(2) Will we have the ability to edit a players FA Compensation status? Meaning, in the player editor, can there be a toggle for Type A, Type B, or None?

(3) Will we have the ability to print a report of all the Type A or Type B free agents OR in some way be able to chose FA Compensation status as a "choosable" field when sorting players in the FA pool?

I hope this gets added because it is quite weird when in June or July teams are getting compensation for players signed.

I would hope we don't have this for two reasons. One, the compensation type is based on a mathematical formula and should stay that way. Also, this makes it easier for people to "cheat" in FA signing by making that Type A guy be worth nothing in compensation.

It's not really "choosable" per se but if you go to financial report in the FA List and you sort the contract value it will say "Free Agent (Type A)" in the column and the players get sorted by what it says.

You can already "cheat" using the editor in a ton of ways. For example, you could lower the players ratings so he signs for cheap, and then raise his ratings back up after signing him. Or you could just use the editor to assign the player to your team.

If people want to use the editor to make changes to their league, I have no problem with that. I doesn't effect anyone when someone edits their own league.

Good now I know how long to wait players out in 11. One question Markus, what was the deadline in 10? Was it until the next offseason? Just curious now.

Thank you, Markus. This is EXCELLENT news for any online league that uses Fhomess' StatsLab OR Getch's OOTP Online Utilities and runs the draft on their utility starting on or right after opening day so that they have the first 3-6 rounds of results ready by June 15th. An aweful lot of leagues do this and end up having to work around the FA Compensation picks that are awarded after the draft has started in but before the league gets to the middle of June.

I have to say that OOTP 10 was, by far, one of the best and most complete OOTP releases that you've ever had in all my days going back to OOTP 2. I hope that OOTP 11 tops that. I know you have a crazy 2-3 months ahead of you, hope you got a nice vacation in this winter. :-)
