OOTP Update #4 Officially Released!

Hey guys,

we have just released the final update for OOTP 11, version number 11.2.28. It fixes bugs and introduces the ability to post news articles of your league via Twitter or Facebook.

This is a new version which fixes installer problems when using custom folders.

IMPORTANT: If you have purchased a boxed version or Gamer's Gate version of the game, you cannot download updates from this site. You must get updates directly from Viva's site: OOTP 11 Patch for boxed version

All users in online leagues must be on the same version of OOTP! If you are not on the same version as the commissioner, your team exports/imports will not work! Please take this into consideration before installing this update.

I suggest you use the updater to install the newer version. However, you may also download the full installer and simply install the game over your current OOTP installation.

Here is the list of fixes/additions:
- The message panel and the league news article reports should show Facebook and Twitter buttons now. Please try to post news articles to your Facebook and Twitter accounts.
- Fixed issues with awards not going to deserving players when they are not on a team
- Fixed projected payroll calculation when extension offers exist
- Fixed rare crashes when enabling the DH prior to a game
- Fixed some PbP issues
- Fixed issue that resulted in duplicated players when manually activating minor league players from the DL and asking for AI minor setup afterwards
- Fixed rare instances when players have no demands listed in the free agent list but asked for a major league contract in the offer screen
- Fixed a bug which caused bad fielding ratings when importing a historical league with custom CSV files and neutralized stats enabled
- Fixed a bug which causes bad injury ratings in non-recalc historical leagues for imported rookies
- Fixed a bug during expansion draft which caused drafted players to cause expenses on the old team
- Improved trade AI
- Fixed problem where story line messages did not contain person names
- Ongoing stories will now be saved in world.dat instead of an extra file
- Added several baseball card features
- File version of english.xml file displayed on database info page
- Fixed multiple small bugs, mainly cosmetic ones

This is the last patch for OOTP 11, work on OOTP 12 has already begun

Has there been a change in the full installer? In the past, I've been able to instruct the full installer to install OOTP to a custom directory. This time, I'm provided with that option, but selecting a custom directory only installs a few core files to that location. The bulk of the installation files are placed in a "My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 11" directory. Is there a work-around for this?

Thankyou for listening to the 30%. I have no clue if every demand that the vocal minority was making in that thread has been addressed with this patch. Probably not. But the fact that some have been addressed after the "final" patch with this "final final" patch demonstrates that you listened to your customers and put some effort into addressing their concerns. You deserve credit for that. Not every company in this business does that, so thankyou. Hopefully you can squish a few more bugs (whilst introducing some new ones no doubt - what can you do? it happens - it's how you respond to the problems when they come up that determines your "street cred" with your homies [or customers if you prefer ]), as well as work in some new features to attract new customers, and re-work whatever you deem needs re-working for OOTP12. Ugh, looks like a new bug.
Attention, this is only for users who install OOTP to a custom directory instead of the default directory.
As a workaround quit OOTP, open the "My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 11" directory, select everything what's in that directory by using the STRG+A key, then cut it (STRG+X). The go to your custom directory, open the /data folder and paste everything there (STRG+V). Delete the "My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 11" directory. Start OOTP.

It will fix the installer problem with custom folders and also a minor bug on the game setup screen.

Please - can we get a response to this question. Some leagues update right away, some don't. If you're in a few leagues and caught in the middle it would be nice to know if this is compatible.

No, this version will work together with other GMs using update #3 in the same online league.

Hi Folks--

I have downloaded both the patch and full installer but OOTP still reports itself as being version 11.2.23. I have not changed paths or anything.

The patch file I downloaded is ootp11linuxpatch.bin, size 13,335,805.

The full version I downloaded is ootp11linuxsetup.tar.gz, size 261,411,300.

Is this patch only for Windows?

Has the players with same name using same picture been fixed? Because when the game first came out if you had a player with the same name as some classic player, the classic players pic would show up for the created player. Also if someone could fill me in on improved trade ai and what was improved would be great.

I sent the update to Lahman, so I am hoping this will be solved in 12. I don't know if Marcus will use it regardless of what Lahman does.

This can hardly be fixed, how should OOTP know which picture is for which player if they have the same names? But OOTP now supports using the Lahman ID for the pictures. So if your picture set uses the Lahman IDs for the pictures everything will work.
