How does that work, exactly?

This was a situation where the team's CF was also listed as a spot starter, and was called into action because the team only had a 3-man rotation set.

The DH for that game does have credit for 7 innings as a CF this season, but the math there still doesn't work; Hayes only pitched 4.1, but stayed in for all four AB (so it's not a case of Hayes starting as DH then moving to CF, which would result in losing the DH anyway).

And actually digging further, the team has played 13 games, and Hayes is credited with starting all 13 of them in CF. I think the spot starter might be an unintended loophole here.
