Comparing other sims

My experience has been playing solo with:
Diamond Mind BB - good on accuracy, but very limited interface. Plus they almost never update game, other than new seasons. Stopped playing because not responsive to clients and virtually no enhancements to game over last 10 yrs.
Action PC BB - now playing, however not too great on accuracy. Good on customer service and they do come out with enhancements each yr.
If any of you out there have played above sims, what are the major differences compared to OOTP - specifically as to Historical replays?
Being a complete Newbie, I'm not sure about easiest way to obtain specific players from various years. I like to play franchises against each other, but like to pick or draft various players from a particular era Example: Franchises from the 60's or a specific range of years. I would probably like to use the equalization method so all the players are on an even playing field (as to era and park factors) Thus, a batter from 1968 would hit better in an equalized setting and vice versa performance for a pitcher.
At this point in my learning mode, I don't want to get into progressive years or salaries, etc. I just want a replay between franchises for a certain era, using particular franchise players. May change my mind in the future, but for now just the replays, using various era's.
Any advice will be appreciated.

If you just want a good replay game then I would say Puresim. The programmer Shaun Sullivan prides himself on realistic season replay. You also get every year. I find it far more accurate then Actiion baseball. When I want to play replay I play Puresim and when I want to play GM I play OOTP. They are both great games. I buy both of them every year. Try the demo and see. Link below for Puresim 4..................Z
