How to get data out? How to get data in?
OUT: How can I export player data into a csv or something so I can analyze it in a spreadsheet?
IN: Where is the player database so (as discussed in a recent thread) I can make a copy with all historical data past my start year removed?

I would also like to expert the draft pool to Excel
I picked up the boxed version of OOTP11 over the weekend. I am interested in drafting in a fantasy league. I would also like to export the draft pool to an Excel spreadsheet or Access database so that I can search players by the specific critera I value, without setting up a seperate filter for each draft round.

Unless I just didn't find a lot of features, I think OOTP is designed as the interface being a large part of the point of the game. You and I would both, I take it, prefer to be presented the information and allowed (even facilitated) to use it the way we would in real life, but the game insists on keeping you eyeballs on it's own software.

I want to export the entire free agent pool to Excel and sort the data by more than one catagory
We are scheduled for a Free Agent draft in two weeks and I am frustrated by trying to find a third baseman with better defense and lower errors than last season. My key considerations are Free Agent Type, Salary Demand, Position Rating, Fielding ratings and a composite of hitting ratings (contact, power, etc.) The information is available on several different screens. I can export one category at a time, but really want to export the entire free agent pool so I can sort via Excel and generate my own Macros to evaluate the players.
Second, I have dual monitors but cannot open multiple OOTP windows. The data is out there, and I find myself transcribing data to a pen or spreadsheet on another laptop. Is there a better method, or is this how everyone else evaluates the Free Agent pool, via memory and changing multiple screens? |
