Acheiving a balanced custom league.

Hi I was wondering if anyone had any tips on making my league more balanced(more different division winners and different champions every year) ootp is an awesome game but i've been getting a little frustrated at having the same division winner five years in a row(i play in commisioner mode) thanks.

I've noticed that effect also. I've had some teams win a division 10 times in a row. Recently, I've enjoyed a league with 3 divisions of 8 teams each, with division champions and 5 wild cards making the playoffs. Each division plays a 154 game schedule and there is no inter-division play.

My Chicgo Fire have played in 8 of 9 World Series...My Endor City Capitals r cruising to their 3rd consecutive AL Pennant (won the WS the 1st 2).

I have come to the conclusion that AI teams in whichever League our own team is in is dumb. but smarter in the league opposite of our own teams

well for my EBL vs MLB league its fictional historical, so when i did this once before the team i am with currently won the 1st 6 World Series, so far i have won the 1st 2 so 4 more to go. The team in the NL is tacked and orig won 20 consecutive division titles while appearing in 12 World Series winning 1 (and never made the playoffs again) in this setup I just have AL vs NL (for now) so I want to see how many they can win now.

In my ABF league in the 8 of 9 World series i have played in I have played 2 teams 2 times different times, and for the past few sns I have a Division winner + wildcard team so theres been very few yrs where the wildcard in either league has been the same.

I've had some pretty good luck doing this by using a salary cap, setting all media contracts the same. Don't get me wrong some team are run better than others but overall teams do have "windows" to win then have to rebuild.
