Position players with pitching ratings and vice-versa
In my fictional league the game created several position players with pitching ratings. Granted, most of them are 1's or 2's but I have a 2B on my team with ratings that might make him a serviceable reliever. Also, several pitchers have ratings at other positions. How do you handle these players?
1) Use them as they are, making use of the versatility. 2) Edit the players and remove the "other" ratings (more like RL?) 3) Develop them according to their most promising future (or second stage of their career, ala Rick Ankiel) |

I kinda "roleplay" when I do OOTP. I play as commish and act as "God" to a point. I always have myself and friends in the game.
With that said, when I find one of these guys. I watch their career and if they are tanking at pitching and have offensive stats or vice versa. I manually do a "position" change and add a write up about it in the history. I even had a guy languish in the minors as a catcher and switched him over to reliever and he got a call up. Stuff like that makes me love this game. We all play differently so do what you want. |
