Do you get to see 'true' ratings after players sign?
Sorry about keeping banging on about ratings but I noticed after the inaugural draft that once the players were allocated to my team some of the ratings are nowhere near what I saw on the draft screens. Does this represent my being able to see the 'true' ratings now? I hope not because I have half a dozen players in the 25-35 OVR range (using the 20-80 scale)

You might think of it as re-evaluation, now that your scouting staff has had a good look at the players. But, the real story is probably about the accuracy and funding of different aspects of your scouting function.
Your scouting director, for example, is rated separately for Scouting Amateurs from Scouting Minor Leaguers, which your draftees have now become. Also, recall that your scouting budget may be allocated differently for these two aspects as well. So, depending on those settings, you could now be seeing a more accurate (or less accurate) set of ratings for these players than you saw during the draft. One thing for sure: You are not necessarily seeing the "true" ratings whenever scouting is on, even if the setting is "very high" for scouting accuracy in Game Options. Pretty accurate, maybe, but not true ratings. |
